Sewage Pipeline leak

The 42" Ley Creek Force Main stretches over two miles from a pump station on 7th North Street to the Metropolitan Wastewater Treatment Plant. A section crossing Onondaga Creek on the railroad bridge has sprung major leaks in recent years.

The county has received permission from the state to allow partially treated sewage to flow into Bear Trap Creek, Ley Creek, and the southern portion of Onondaga Lake until repairs are complete.
