New York State Parks meet energy reduction goal ahead of schedule

New York State Parks have reached their 2025 energy reduction goal early by upgrading heating systems, switching to LED lighting, and improving efficiency, reducing emissions by 1,400 tons and cutting energy costs by $260,000 annually.

February 28, 2022 - Kingston, NY - In recognition of Black History month, Governor Kathy Hochul announced today a new State Park planned for more than 500 acres along the Hudson River shoreline in Ulster County will be named for 19th century Black abolitionist and suffragist Sojourner Truth.
