The chants of "U-S-A, U-S-A" were earsplitting for those who lined streets in New York City Wednesday to celebrate the US Women’s National Soccer Team for their victory in the World Cup.  Fans, many of them families with young girls, kept streaming in to catch a glimpse of their heroes.  The Women’s Team won the final of the World Cup Sunday 2-0 over The Netherlands in France.

One of Karen DeCrow's long-time friends is remembering her as a sweet, kind, loving, and funny trailblazer for gender equality.  DeCrow passed away Friday morning at her home in Jamesville after long battle with melanoma.  She was 76.

Women might be the key in passing an increase to the federal minimum wage – or at least that’s how New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is trying to frame the wage legislation to her congressional colleagues.  She highlighted the issue Tuesday on “Equal Pay Day,” the date to which women would have to work to match the pay men got for the same job last calendar year.
