Syracuse now has three victories over ranked teams after dominating the eighteenth-ranked team in the country. The Orange (18-8, 9-4) locked down the Louisville  Cardinals (18-9, 9-5) in the Carrier Dome Wednesday night to win 69-49.

Elijah Hughes led all scorers with 18 points. After starting the game off 1-6 from downtown, Hughes finished 4-10 from behind the arc. All four of the East Carolina transfer’s field goals against Louisville were three-point baskets. Oshae Brissett (16) Buddy Boeheim (14) and Tyus Battle also finished in double figures for the Orange.

Syracuse Tops Boston College 67-56 at Home

Feb 9, 2019

With just over nine minutes remaining in the game, Tyus Battle stole the ball, ran the length of the floor, and rose up for a dunk, brining the Carrier Dome crowd of over 26,000 to its feet. Boston College's Ky Bowman matched Battle almost the entire way down court, but could not catch up to prevent the jam.

How Good is Cuse? Tuesday Night Should Provide Clarity

Feb 4, 2019

Tuesday night’s matchup between Syracuse (16-6, 7-2) and the 22nd ranked Florida State Seminoles (16-5, 4-4) will be a measuring stick game for the Orange.

Coming off back-to-back wins, Cuse welcomes a Noles team that is riding a three game win streak of their own. Syracuse defeated Pittsburg 65-56 Saturday night just a couple hours after FSU topped a struggling Georgia Tech team 59-49.

News coverage recently has had a relentless spotlight on the Mexican border, but today on The Best of WAER Sports Podcast we're turning our attention to the Canadian border. From Andrew Wiggins to Tristan Thompson, college basketball has recently sent a number of canadian born players to the NBA . WAER's Cooper Boardman reports that this lastest wave of players has helped put Canadian talent at the forefront of college basketball.

Also this week, Syracuse Men's Basketball hasn't landed a five-star recruit since 2015. Why has it been so long and will this trend continue? WAER's JD Raucci investigates.

Syracuse Upsets No. 16 Ohio State on the Road, 72-62

Nov 28, 2018

A second half surge propelled Syracuse Basketball (4-2) to their best win of their young 2018-2019 campaign in a 72-62 win at No. 16 Ohio State (6-1). The game was part of the annual ACC-Big Ten Challenge and was the Orange’s first win over a ranked opponent this season.

Orange Back in Win Column, Top Colgate 77-56

Nov 22, 2018

After back-to-back losses to Connecticut and Oregon at Madison Square Garden last week, Syracuse Basketball was dropped from the national rankings. Before even thinking about rankings, however, Jim Boeheim's team needed a win to get their record back over .500, with an opportunity at the Carrier Dome Wednesday night against Colgate.

Tyus Battle led all scorers with 24 points for Syracuse (3-2,) one of four in double digits in a 77-56 win over Colgate (4-2.)

For The Orange, It Stops At the Sweet Sixteen

Mar 24, 2018

The Orange Men's Basketball team is done dancing after a tense matchup with No. 2 seed Duke, ending with a final score of 69 - 65. All hopes of an upset to parallel Syracuse’s 2016 run to the Final Four were dashed as the Blue Devils pulled ahead in the second half of Friday’s game.

Both teams appeared evenly matched for the duration of the first half. No. 11 seed Syracuse made eight of their first 12 shots, getting out to a 17 - 14 lead early in the game.

Orange Falls Late to Tar Heels

Feb 21, 2018

It was a packed Loud House in Central New York, but Syracuse (18-10, 7-8) fell 78-74 to North Carolina (22-7, 11-5) in a back and forth affair. Frustrating does not do the result justice.

Frank Howard, Tyus Battle and Oshae Brissett scored 66 of the Orange's 74 points. The story tonight is the same as it has been all season, 'Cuse has only three players making significant offensive contributions. Despite all the scoring, Syracuse struggled to defend inside for the majority of the game.

'Cuse Looking for Revenge Vs. Wake Forest

Feb 11, 2018

January 3rd may seem like a short time ago, but for two ACC teams it seems like a distant memory.

On that Wednesday one month ago, Wake Forest (9-15, 2-10) defeated Syracuse (16-8, 5-6) by the score of 73-67 in Winston-Salem. Since then, the Demon Deacons have only won one game. Meanwhile, the Orange have gone 4-5 in that same stretch. Now, the two teams meet again today at the Carrier Dome.

After the most recent SU contest, a 78-73 win over Louisville, Syracuse Head Coach Jim Boeheim spoke with the media.

A long break can leave a team rusty or rested. Following a week off of in-game action, the Syracuse Orange (14-6, 3-4) showed little rust in an 81-63 win over the Boston College Eagles (13-8,3-5).

Tyus Battle led all scorers with 24 points on a night where the Orange offense flourished after an early defensive lapse.

Boston College drained four three pointers in four minutes to open up a 14-7 lead early.
