Dr. Kathryn Anderson says she's excited about the opportunity to serve as the Onondaga County's next health commissioner.

The nominee to be Onondaga County’s next health commissioner is one step closer to officially taking on the role. The Health and Human Services Committee voted Wednesday to advance Dr. Kathryn Anderson’s appointment hearing. The position was previously held by Dr. Indu Gupta, who retired in July of this year.

Anderson is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and an Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at Upstate Medical University. She’ll answer legislators’ questions at the hearing on Oct. 4 at the legislature’s regular session.
