Election day brings with it the last chance you have to vote in today’s local elections. Polls are open ‘til 9:00 P-M … and it’s the last day to have a mail-in ballot postmarked to get it counted.
For those who need to find a polling place, Onondaga County Board of Elections has a list and a map of polling sites. New York State also allows you to search by name and zip code.
A record number of people utilized early voting in Onondaga County for a local election. The Board of Elections says 9 days of early voting attracted more than 17-thousand voters, the most in a local election ever. Republican Elections Commissioner Kevin Ryan however said it doesn’t necessarily mean it brought more people to the polls, only that those likely to vote were able to do it earlier. In the last local election in 2023 fewer than 30% of eligible voters participated.
Resolve voting problems or report fraud
For voters who face problems or irregularities, New York’s Attorney General has a hotline and website to report or resolve any voting issues.
Attorney General James urges voters experiencing election-related problems while voting to call the OAG hotline at (866) 390-2992, or submit a complaint online to request assistance.
The telephone hotline will be open between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4. It will also be available the following day, Wednesday, November 5, between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM to help voters who need assistance after Election Day.
Written requests for assistance may be submitted at any time through the online complaint form. Hotline calls and written requests for assistance are processed by OAG attorneys and staff.
