U-S Representative John Mannion announced more than $11 million in federal funding will be coming to Central New York and the Mohawk Valley.

Mannion said the money will help fund law enforcement mobile command operations in Syracuse and Onondaga County and lead remediations in Onondaga County and Syracuse. There is also money to support clean water and water system improvements throughout the region, water research at Syracuse University, and workforce training at Onondaga County Community College.

“Every one of these projects came directly from local needs and local voices," Mannion said in a release. "This funding means safer communities, cleaner water, stronger job pipelines, and long-overdue infrastructure improvements."

He noted the funding has passed the U-S House and is expected to pass the Senate.
