Renewed hostilities shutting down the Strait of Hormuz have triggered another sharp jump in gas prices at the pump.
In Central New York, drivers are paying well over $4 a gallon, which is 14 cents over the national average. In Syracuse, a gallon of regular gas now costs $4.25. That's nearly a dime more than a gallon of gas cost last week.
Analysts with AAA say the temporary ceasefire had stabilized gas prices as shipments of crude oil once again began cruising through the Strait. But that was short lived when Tehran reportedly accused Israel and the United States of ignoring the cease fire agreement, effectively blocking free maritime traffic.
