Folk Alley is the newest addition to the WAER weekly music lineup. Starting September 19th listeners can hear Folk Alley Wednesday's at 8pm. The program takes the place of the long time NPR program Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz, which ceased distribution earlier this month.
Folk Alley presents an exciting, intelligent, and eclectic mix of the best traditional folk, Americana, contemporary singer/songwriters, and roots music, from the latest releases, classics, and exclusive in-studio Folk Alley Sessions and live concert recordings.
Host, Elena See has quite the background in music, She first connected with her inner folkie while working as an assistant producer for Minnesota Public Radio's "A Prairie Home Companion" with Garrison Keillor. She also worked as the sound engineer for Keillor's daily literary program, "The Writer's Almanac." From Minnesota, she headed to the wilds of Maine to work as the music director for Maine Public Broadcasting, and then to the bustling city life of Washington, DC where she programmed the classical music channels for Sirius XM Satellite Radio.
We hope you'll tune in and enjoy Folk Alley with Elena See starting Wednesday September 19th at 8pm, on WAER.
