Sacred Sites Open House at University United Methodist Church
Sacred Sites Open House at University United Methodist Church
University Church will be open for self-guided tours of its Collegiate Gothic sanctuary, built in 1921 and designed by then-SU architecture professors Frederick Revels and Frederick Lear. The sanctuary features eight soaring stained-glass windows and a 3,000-pipe Casavant Frères organ (organist will be available for demonstrations and questions 10 a.m.-1 p.m.). There will also be a small display of historical items, including original architectural drawings. The event is part of the New York Landmarks Conservancy's annual statewide Sacred Sites Open House event. Refreshments available.
