Patients of FamilyCare Medical Group with Excellus Insurance received a second letter over the weekend warning that negotiations have stalled. Without progress, the primary health care provider will no longer be in network for Excellus members as of December 31st, 2024.

The dispute comes amid other contract issues Excellus faces, including impasses with St. Joseph's Health and WellNow Urgent Care. Both cite low payments and delays in claims.

St. Joseph's Health argues that Excellus' low reimbursements are unsustainable, while Excellus says the healthcare system is asking for an unreasonable rate increase.

As negotiations continue, many patients are unsure whether their current providers will remain in network next year.

FCMG encourages patients to consider other insurance providers and discuss plan options with employers or brokers to maintain continuity of care.
