The lowered national gas price this year comes as a relief from last year’s ultimate highs in pricing.

For the 11th week in a row, gasoline prices in Syracuse have dropped. Last week, it fell 4.2 cents to $3.14 a gallon on average. For a typical tank on E, that’s a savings of nearly $8 at the pump.

Gasbuddy.com is showing some stations charging prices as low as $2.75 per gallon throughout Syracuse. South of Syracuse some stations are still charging $3.49 a gallon.

Overall, that’s a decrease of nearly 23 cents from last month. Nationally, average gas prices have also decreased, and supply and demand analysts predict it could fall to $2.99 per gallon this month or next.

That is, if ongoing tensions in the Middle East do not interfere with oil production.
