The state’s health commissioner says new data shows the proposed elimination of enhanced tax credits would add an average of $250 per month for couples. As many as 80,000 New Yorkers could also lose individual marketplace coverage if the bill passes in its current form.

“The GOP’s Big Ugly bill would slash health care coverage for millions of New Yorkers and raise monthly costs by hundreds of dollars,” Gov. Kathy Hochul said. “If New York’s Republican delegation won’t stand up for their own constituents, I will.”
