SUNY Morrisville shelters after man shot at dorm; NYSP say no ongoing threat

Two SUNY Morrisville dorms, Onondaga and South halls, remain under shelter-in-place.

SUNY Morrisville remains under a partial shelter-in-place after a 20-year-old non-student man was shot in the neck at South Hall around 3:45 p.m. Monday, according to New York State Police.The victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse and is expected to survive. No other injuries were reported, and police say there is no ongoing threat to the campus community.

Students in Onondaga and South halls have been asked to remain sheltered as law enforcement continues searching the area and processing the scene.

A command post has been established, with members of the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Uniformed Services, SORT, and K9 units assisting.

The investigation remains active. No arrests have been announced.
