Syracuse Men’s basketball accomplished something on Saturday that they haven’t been able to all season: a 3-game winning streak. Now, the team heads down to bean town to take on the struggling 9-12 Boston College Eagles. WAER’s Bryce Gelman details how SU has had the upper hand against BC recently and can capitalize on its solid play as of late Tuesday night.

It seems as if everything has gone right for the Orange against the Eagles in recent memory. SU is currently riding a 6-game streak against BC, with an average margin-of-victory of 17 during this stretch, which spans 3 seasons.

A lot has changed for Boston College since the last time it played Syracuse. The Eagles have seen a new coach and a multitude of new players following their disappointing 4-16 2020-21 campaign, and appear to finally be trending upwards. However, they have still stumbled in ACC play, amassing a 4-7 record in the conference this year.

One bright spot to BC’s season is its 8-3 record at home. Albeit, 2 of these losses have come to Atlantic Coast opponents in 5 games, but it’s still a stat that the Orange will keep in mind.

Something else to watch for Tuesday night will be that Syracuse won’t be the only squad with a brotherly duo taking the floor. Makai Ashton-Langford and DeMarr Langford Jr., a senior and a sophomore, respectively, are BC’s top scorers and combine to average just over 23 points per game this season. This will mark the first time that Buddy and Jimmy Boeheim will go up against two brothers on the same team.

Speaking of the Boeheim’s and the rest of the Syracuse Men’s Basketball team, they come into this game looking to continue their more efficient offensive play, which Coach Boeheim has noticed. “I just thought the improvement that we have made on offense and continue to make is really the key for the rest of the year,” he said.

A player that has perhaps grown the most this season and deserves a lot of praise is Jesse Edwards, who had 19 points and 8 rebounds in only 26 minutes against Louisville on Saturday. The Dutchman had his teammates to thank for his improved play.

“It really just started from getting the ball from my teammates from the top. When they were shooting so well they could pass it to me and I could just finish easily,” Edwards additionally said.

Syracuse will look for its fourth straight win on Tuesday at 8 p.m against Boston College. Be sure to tune into our coverage of the game beginning with GZA Countdown to Tipoff at 7:30.
