Syracuse Speaks-Community Needs and Responses
The Coronavirus pandemic has caused health and fiscal strain across the community, and it continues to even as parts of the economy reopen. But organizations who help those struggling say the problems aren’t new. They’re existing problems that have been made worse by the effects of COVID-19.
Two local nonprofits published separate assessments earlier in the summer with this exact finding. Greater Syracuse H.O.P.E and Peace Inc are now trying to inform policy makers and empower the community with this data. Their latest endeavour, The White Paper series, offers historical context to current issues in two pages.
In this episode of Syracuse Speaks, Executive Director of Greater Syracuse H.O.P.E. Ocesa Keaton and Community Engagement Director of Peace Inc Todd Goehle talk about the struggles the community is still facing and how their findings can guide solutions.
Also in the program, we hear from local leaders and decision makers about what their organizaitons are doing to help resolve the issues right now and what they're planning in the future.
